The kamea of Venus
The 7 × 7 magic square of Venus: every line sums to 175.
The 7×7 magic square — every row, column, and diagonal sums to 175, and the total sum of all cells is 1225. It is through this grid that the sigils of Venus's entities are traced.
The square
The kamea of Venus holds the numbers 1 to 49 in 7 rows of 7. Each row, each column and both diagonals add up to 175, and all the cells together to 1225.
Row by row:
- 22 · 47 · 16 · 41 · 10 · 35 · 4 = 175
- 5 · 23 · 48 · 17 · 42 · 11 · 29 = 175
- 30 · 6 · 24 · 49 · 18 · 36 · 12 = 175
- 13 · 31 · 7 · 25 · 43 · 19 · 37 = 175
- 38 · 14 · 32 · 1 · 26 · 44 · 20 = 175
- 21 · 39 · 8 · 33 · 2 · 27 · 45 = 175
- 46 · 15 · 40 · 9 · 34 · 3 · 28 = 175
These numbers are Venus’s: 7, 49 cells, 175 on every line and 1225 in all (the profile lists 7, 49, 175, 1225).
How a sigil is traced
A sigil is a picture of an intention, or of a name, drawn by joining numbers on a kamea. Planetary Sigils follows a simple method:
- Write the intention and keep each letter once.
- Drop the vowels.
- Turn each consonant into a number, A = 1 to Z = 26. If that number is not on the square, reduce it to 1–9 (J = 1, K = 2 … R = 9).
- Find each number on the square and join them in order: a small circle marks the start, a short bar the end.
Example: HARMONY on the kamea of Venus. Unique letters HARMONY, consonants HRMNY:
- H 8
- R 18
- M 13
- N 14
- Y 25
Work with a sigil of Venus in Venus’s own hour, ideally on Friday. Today’s planetary hours show when it falls.
The traditional sigils of Venus’s intelligence (Hagiel) and spirit (Kedemel) were traced on this same square, from the Hebrew letters of their names.
Trace your own
Planetary Sigils does the reduction and draws the sigil for any intention on any of the kameas, then lets you watch it traced line by line, save it and share it.
