The kamea of Saturn
The 3 × 3 magic square of Saturn: every line sums to 15.
The 3×3 magic square — the smallest and most concentrated of all planetary kameas. Every row, column, and diagonal sums to 15, and the total sum of all cells is 45. The sigils of Saturn's entities are traced through this grid.
The square
The kamea of Saturn holds the numbers 1 to 9 in 3 rows of 3. Each row, each column and both diagonals add up to 15, and all the cells together to 45.
Row by row:
- 2 · 7 · 6 = 15
- 9 · 5 · 1 = 15
- 4 · 3 · 8 = 15
These numbers are Saturn’s: 3, 9 cells, 15 on every line and 45 in all (the profile lists 3, 9, 29, 333).
How a sigil is traced
A sigil is a picture of an intention, or of a name, drawn by joining numbers on a kamea. Planetary Sigils follows a simple method:
- Write the intention and keep each letter once.
- Drop the vowels.
- Turn each consonant into a number, A = 1 to Z = 26. If that number is not on the square, reduce it to 1–9 (J = 1, K = 2 … R = 9).
- Find each number on the square and join them in order: a small circle marks the start, a short bar the end.
Example: PATIENCE on the kamea of Saturn. Unique letters PATIENC, consonants PTNC:
- P 16 → 7
- T 20 → 2
- N 14 → 5
- C 3
Work with a sigil of Saturn in Saturn’s own hour, ideally on Saturday. Today’s planetary hours show when it falls.
The traditional sigils of Saturn’s intelligence (Agiel) and spirit (Zazel) were traced on this same square, from the Hebrew letters of their names.
Trace your own
Planetary Sigils does the reduction and draws the sigil for any intention on any of the kameas, then lets you watch it traced line by line, save it and share it.
