The kamea of the Moon

The 9 × 9 magic square of the Moon: every line sums to 369.

The 9×9 magic square — the largest of the classical planetary kameas. Every row, column, and diagonal sums to 369, and the total sum of all cells is 3321. The sigils of the Moon's entities are traced across this vast tidal grid.

The kamea of the Moon holds the numbers 1 to 81 in 9 rows of 9. Each row, each column and both diagonals add up to 369, and all the cells together to 3321.

Row by row:

  1. 37 · 78 · 29 · 70 · 21 · 62 · 13 · 54 · 5 = 369
  2. 6 · 38 · 79 · 30 · 71 · 22 · 63 · 14 · 46 = 369
  3. 47 · 7 · 39 · 80 · 31 · 72 · 23 · 55 · 15 = 369
  4. 16 · 48 · 8 · 40 · 81 · 32 · 64 · 24 · 56 = 369
  5. 57 · 17 · 49 · 9 · 41 · 73 · 33 · 65 · 25 = 369
  6. 26 · 58 · 18 · 50 · 1 · 42 · 74 · 34 · 66 = 369
  7. 67 · 27 · 59 · 10 · 51 · 2 · 43 · 75 · 35 = 369
  8. 36 · 68 · 19 · 60 · 11 · 52 · 3 · 44 · 76 = 369
  9. 77 · 28 · 69 · 20 · 61 · 12 · 53 · 4 · 45 = 369

These numbers are Moon’s: 9, 81 cells, 369 on every line and 3321 in all (the profile lists 9, 81, 369, 3321).

How a sigil is traced

A sigil is a picture of an intention, or of a name, drawn by joining numbers on a kamea. Planetary Sigils follows a simple method:

  1. Write the intention and keep each letter once.
  2. Drop the vowels.
  3. Turn each consonant into a number, A = 1 to Z = 26. If that number is not on the square, reduce it to 1–9 (J = 1, K = 2 … R = 9).
  4. Find each number on the square and join them in order: a small circle marks the start, a short bar the end.

Example: INTUITION on the kamea of the Moon. Unique letters INTUO, consonants NT:

  • N 14
  • T 20

A sigil for “Intuition” traced on the kamea of the Moon: it opens with a circle on 14, follows 14, 20, and closes with a bar.

Work with a sigil of the Moon in Moon’s own hour, ideally on Monday. Today’s planetary hours show when it falls.

The traditional sigils of Moon’s intelligence (Malcha betharsithim hed beruah schehakim) and spirit (Chasmodai) were traced on this same square, from the Hebrew letters of their names.

Trace your own

Planetary Sigils does the reduction and draws the sigil for any intention on any of the kameas, then lets you watch it traced line by line, save it and share it.
